The National Weather Service is now using a new technique to broadcast Warnings, Advisories, and Statements over its extensive NOAA Weather Radio Network.  The technique uses a burst of digital data to preface each message with Specific Area Message Encoding information.  NWR receivers with special decoders can select only those messages of importance to the user.  This page is dedicated to the dissemination of information on this technology, its practice, and equipment.
